Each of us is an earthen vessel into which God has placed a unique treasure. The treasure of creativity placed in me finds expression through my craftwork.
I have been working in fabric arts since 1974 making sturdy and safe fabric toys for children and fabric art, including tote bags embellished with beadwork, for adults.
I have been a potter since 1984. I use stoneware clay and form each piece on my potter's wheel or build pieces by hand from stoneware clay or paperclay. Although my designs emphasize utility, some of them serve merely through their unique beauty. I glaze and fire all my own work, completing the process. All the materials are lead-free and suitable for use with food. I often use painted designs featuring calligraphy and whimsical animals and intend that they should lift the spirit of the user.
My sewing skills began in high school and grew with many years of experience. I began to make pottery in 1984, taking classes and seminars at the University of New Mexico, at Ghost Ranch Conference Center in Abique, New Mexico, and through Arizona Clay Association. I moved to Prescott in 2001 and show my craftwork in area galleries and craft shows.
